Kevin R. Morano, Director
Mr. Morano brings global financial executive experience within the mining industry and other industries. Mr. Morano has extensive experience in the mining industry coming from his highly successful 20-year tenure at ASARCO, a $3-billion (U.S.) copper mining, specialty chemicals and aggregates producer with operations in over 35 countries, where he was president, chief operating officer and a director at the time when ASARCO was acquired by Grupo Mexico in November, 1999, for $29.50 (U.S.) per share, a 61-per-cent premium for shareholders. While at ASARCO, he was responsible for managing ASARCO's financial and investor relations departments. His major accomplishments included managing the completion of an $800-million (U.S.) financing program for a Peruvian subsidiary; and completing the public listing of Southern Peru Copper Corporation on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr. Morano is currently the principal of his own private equity and management advisory firm, KEM Capital LLC, which invests in and advises emerging and startup companies in the mining, medical and other businesses. Mr. Morano is also a director of Golden Minerals Company.
