Andrew T. Swarthout, President and Director

Prior to founding Bear Creek Mining Company, Mr. Swarthout was formerly an officer and member of the management committee of Southern Peru Copper Corporation where he participated in decision making during a dynamic period of corporate expansions, financing and project development. As vice-president of exploration for Southern Peru Copper from 1995 to 2000, he was directly responsible for two new major discoveries, as well as reserve expansions on the order of 200 per cent on the company's two porphyry copper deposits.

Mr. Swarthout has participated in several deposit discoveries and reserve expansions in North America and South America, which are in production, or which will be placed into production in the future. Mr. Swarthout has a career history of successful ore deposit discoveries and management of negotiations for the acquisition of projects in Latin America and the U.S. Mr. Swarthout has participated in project permitting and financing, as well as managing several prefeasibility and financial scoping studies and has evaluated reserves on numerous precious and base metals deposits. Prior to this, Mr. Swarthout was the exploration manager (Mexico) for Kennecott Copper.

Mr. Swarthout served as a member of the National Mining Society of Peru's Committee for the Promotion of Private Investment, where he initiated favourable environmental and taxation policies to promote foreign mining investment in Peru.

David F. Volkert, Vice-President, Exploration

Prior to joining Bear Creek, Mr. Volkert held positions as exploration manager for Harrods Minerals Ltd., Peru and exploration manager/chief geologist, Peru for Barrick Gold Corp. He was instrumental in the initial evaluation, acquisition and subsequent definition of Barrick's Pierina gold deposit, and managed the exploration team leading to the discovery of the recently announced Alto Chicama gold deposit. In Ecuador, he was the exploration manager of International Minerals Corporation (formerly Ecuadorian Minerals Corp.) leading to the discovery of the Gaby porphyry gold deposit. The three deposits cited contain a total resource of 15 million ounces of gold, to date. He has 22 years of exploration experience in South America, North America, Asia and Africa.

Since joining Bear Creek in July 2000, Mr. Volkert has been responsible for the technical management of a team of two Peruvian staff geologists with over 40 years of exploration experience and several consultants. Mr. Volkert's expertise has facilitated the review of numerous mineral properties, including three drilling programs, as well as a project generative approach that encourages exploration in under-explored geologic environments with exceptional potential. Mr. Volkert serves as president of the Search and Rescue Command Center for the National Mining Society.

Marc Leduc, Vice President Technical Services

Mr. Leduc has extensive experience in the mining industry where, over the last 17 years, he has been involved in all aspects of operations, planning and evaluation of large scale mining projects for Barrick Gold, Vector Engineering and Lafarge Dundas. He has led technical teams in the design and construction of large open pit heap leach deposits. During his ten years of experience in Latin America, Mr. Leduc has lived in Peru for two years where he was one of the key professionals on the design, development, construction and initial operation of the Pierina Mine. Mr. Leduc is qualified as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and British Columbia and he holds both a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mining Engineering from Queen's University and a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Ottawa.

Corey M. Dean, VP Legal

Mr. Dean was educated at the University of British Columbia where he received his B.Comm. in 1979 and his LL.B. in 1980. He is a Partner at DuMoulin Black law firm in Vancouver. Corey practises corporate, securities and natural resource law with a focus on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions for both natural resource and industrial issuers. Corey is a former chairman of the natural resources subsection of the British Columbia branch of the Canadian Bar Association. Corey primarily acts as counsel for corporate clients engaged in various industry sectors including mining, oil and gas, medical technology and computer technology but has also acted as counsel for underwriters from time to time. Corey has lectured for the Continuing Legal Education, the Canadian Bar Association and the TSX Venture Exchange (formerly the Canadian Venture Exchange) on securities law, take-over bids and corporate governance matters.

Steven Krause, Chief Financial Officer

Steven Krause is the president of a Langley based Chartered Accounting practice. Mr. Krause received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1997, and also holds a Certified Public Accountant designation in the U.S.A. Mr. Krause has worked extensively with mineral exploration and development stage companies on the TSX Venture Exchange. Mr. Krause holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Trinity Western University.

Chafika Eddine, Vice President Corporate Development

Ms. Eddine has a wide breadth of experience in the mining industry. Over the last 12 years she has administrated, restructured and established exploration offices in 10 countries in the Americas and Europe for both major and junior companies, including Anglo American, AngloGold, Candente Resources, GoldQuest and MinMet. She holds a Law and Business Administration degree from Brazil with post-graduate studies in Finance.
